Looking back at 2019 and ahead to 2020

2019 was a significant year for Grichan; as well as celebrating our 12th birthday we enjoyed our highest turnover and completed a more diverse range of projects than ever before.

We are a small and specialist business when compared to our competitors, which allows close working relationships and an understanding of each other’s roles that would not be possible in a large company.  This enables us to remain focussed on our customer’s requirements and to fulfil assignment briefs quickly and accurately.

Our team has grown with new expertise in the Delivery unit, researching the market for the right candidates and qualifying them through a process that few agencies can match, but the thoroughness of this approach – including objective assessments – offers clients ‘benchmarked’ candidates whose eminent suitability relieves hard-pressed hiring managers of what can be a major headache.

We have also established a sales team to extend our reach and develop an ever more detailed understanding of markets and trends.  Our Consultancy offering now has a dedicated leadership and has significantly increased the number of associates we have worked with this year.

In addition to what has been a consistent focus on services suppliers, we worked with clients on procurement and commercial projects during 2019 and expect to expand this further this year.

We recruited for customers in the FM, housing, infrastructure, security and manufacturing sectors; working on over 30 senior roles.  Highlights for us include the placement of senior business development leadership in a market-leading services business as well as engineering programme directors for infrastructure projects of national significance.

Our consulting service had a significant presence in work-winning and mobilisation for several major contracts and we supported the housing teams in two London boroughs on major procurement programmes, providing commercial support and advice to secure savings and address delivery standards.

Looking ahead, Grichan is going form strength to strength.  2020 sees us with an expanded delivery and sales team, a still-growing group of specialist associates and, we trust, more success for our customers.

Develop: Strategic Business Change – Grichan’s team brings experience of industry best practice and makes succinct recommendations to address problems.
